“Describe Mr Brown in 3–4 sentences.”
HOW WE MET
My best friend is Tom. I first met him at school over ten years ago when we were 11. I remember that it was in the playground while we were playing football. At first, I thought he was very arrogant, and I didn't like him at all. But he made a joke about what a terrible footballer I was, and it was so funny that I had to laugh. We've been close friends ever since, although there have been times when we haven't seen each other for years.
WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE
Physically, he is of average build and quite tall. He has got a pale complexion and blond curly hair, but the first thing you notice about him is his moustache. I wouldn't describe him as good-looking, but he has an interesting face. He has lively blue eyes and a prominent nose that lots of women seem to like.
WHAT HE IS LIKE
Many people find it hard to understand Tom. He comes across as being very serious, but he loves having fun and meeting people. He's really good company and he's got a great sense of humour, although he doesn't like telling jokes. I'd describe him as an easy-going person. He's also a very good listener. Over the years he has helped me when I had a problem by sitting and listening. Because he's very easy to talk to, we tend to chat for hours about things like football, politics and relationships.
WHAT HE LIKES
He's into lots of things, especially music, but he's not keen on dancing. He's got a real talent for the guitar and he plays a lot when he's alone at home. He's quite an active guy and he enjoys sport, although he can't play football any more. One of his greatest loves is food and wine. Besides eating out, we love cooking! Now that's another reason why I like him so much – he's an excellent cook.
